Summary/Abstract: In the long run, migration is beneficial. But in the short-term, there are adjustment costs and these tend to fall most heavily on countries which have the most fragile societies. So any resolution of the migration crisis is going to require sacrifice. Politicians will lose popularity and resources will need to be found. This is not going to be simple.
