Summary/Abstract: In my presentation I discussed the problem of crossing lines in theatre. When referring to works of the leading theatre experimenters such as: Tadeusz Kantor and Jerzy Grotowski, going through the analysis of achievements of Krystian Lupa, and finally, mentioning the methods of the directors belonging to younger generation (giving the examples of Grzegorz Jarzyna and, of course, Maja Kleczewska). In this context I presented afterthought on the current condition of Polish theatre. I attempted to reflect on the results of crossing the line and artistic strategy of young Polish theatre creators who present shocking pictures and pulp essence with increasing frequency. Does such “a method” encourage to meet with this sort of art or, on the contrary, does it discourage and repel confused spectators?
