Summary/Abstract: The text is a review of a collected volume “Od Ramajany do Slumdoga. Filmowe adaptacje literatury indyjskiej” [“From Ramajana to Slumdog. Film Adaptations of Indian Literature”] (2015) edited by Grażyna Stachówna and Tatiana Szurlej. The book includes twenty essays on films realised on the basis of Indian literature. The reviewer highlights the eclecticism of the publication resulting from the diversity of literature in India or even the inability to define one Indian literature. The volume, however, was highly evaluated as a pioneering publication which responds to the growing interest in the phenomenon dealt with in the book.
