Summary/Abstract: Following the model of some publications from countries with a music traditional, after 1861, in the Romanian countries begin to appear a number of exclusively musical publications. The first of these is Musicul român, published by Oprea Dumitrescu, of which only the first two issues are known.On October 4, 1869, a new publication appears in Bucharest, namely: Eco musicale di Romania, followed on December 2, 1879 by the first issue of the “musical and literary” magazine entitled Lyra română.The fourth music publication is the magazine Arta, which is published on September 10, 1883 in Iaşi. Concomitantly, Doina is published in Bucharest.The last of the music publications was România musicală. The magazine’s editors understood the quantitative and qualitative leap made by Romanian music and with it musical publishing.
