Summary/Abstract: The article examines new media arts from the perspective of temporal dimensioning of the artistic creative act and the perception of the work of art. The relationship between time and spatiality is seen as a defining parameter of the artistic act, as one of a nature to generate new forms of visual expression. The discourse is built around an analysis of media from an historical perspective, resorting also to numerous examples from new media creations. Theoretical references are treating philosophical concepts of time encountered in Henry Bergson and Martin Heidegger works, or the latest ideas from the fields of cognitive sciences, new media theory or visual semantics.
