Philosophical and Methodological Presumptions of Claude Levi-Strauss’ Structural Anthropology

Summary/Abstract: This paper is a description of methodological and philosophical assumptions of Claude Levi-Strauss’ structural anthropology. I refer to Ferdinand de Saussere’s general linguistics as a methodological base and to Marcel Mauss’ theory of social exchange which is a theoretical background for the trend which is being presented. I will present the key notions of structural anthrophology and its ontological and epistemological presumptions. W pracy tej znajduje się opis załoĪeń metodologicznych oraz filozoficznych antropologii strukturalnej Claude Levi-Straussa. W artykule odnoszą się do językoznawstwa ogólnego Ferdynanda de Saussure’a – jako podstawy metodologicznej – oraz teorii wymiany społecznej Marcela Maussa, będącej zapleczem teoretycznym dla opisywanego nurtu. Zaprezentuję kluczowe pojęcia antropologii strukturalnej oraz jej założenia dotyczące ontologii i epistemologii.
