About Refounding of the Newspaper „Samouprava” on 20th February 1936

Summary/Abstract: The refounding of newspaper Samouprava on February 20th 1936. is closely conected with the situation in The Kingdom of Yougoslavia. Struggle power in the ruling party the Yougoslav Radical Community and between the prime minister Stojadinović and the former leadership of Radical party, at the end of 1935 and beggining of 1936, ended with Stojadinovic victory. In order to confirm that victory, with the help of colleagues from the government Korošec and Spaho, representatives of Slovenian and Bosnian Muslims, Stojadinović refounded the newspaper Samouprava which draw on great tradition of the Radical Party and Nikola Pašić from the times of the Kingdom of Serbia. The refounding of the newspaper Samouprava and the takeover of newspaper Vreme was part of propaganda offensive the goal of which was to promote Milan Stojadinović as chief of the government party, leader of all radicals and the sole representative of Serbian people in the Kingdom of Yougoslavia.
