Summary/Abstract: The thesis of the article is: transcendentalism is not only the beautiful Kantian reflection. A serious argument for the factuality of transcendentalism is the contemporary theory of cognition, i.e. the theory of cognition practised semantically. It states that cognition – if it is to be intersubjectively communicable – must always be approached from the perspective of a language perceived as the system of expressions that have the meaning. Therefore, the propositions of the theory of cognition always concern the terms and tasks of a specific language which gives the meaning to these terms and sentences. The ”pure” cognitive subject does not exist – the cognitive subject is always the subject which is ”a part of” a language, the intensional layer of which is the cognitive awareness of that subject.
