USING COMMUNICATION TO MAKE OR BREAK RELATIONSHIPS

Summary/Abstract: Communication is what defines us as human beings; we cannot go through a day without communicating. Communication is of paramount importance when it comes to our relationships, to our workplace etc. And yet, there are times when, despite everyoneřs efforts, communication breaks down. The present paper focuses on the relation between message and metamessage as well as the human needs that motivate communication Ŕ the need to form relationships and the need not to be imposed on Ŕ and how a wrong interpretation of any of the above-mentioned factors, may lead to miscommunication.
