SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATION BETVEEN STATE AND SOCIETY TOWARDS ARCHIVAL ACTIVITIES IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Summary/Abstract: This paper gives some basic outlines of the place and role of archives in society, where he pointed to the fact that the archive in the performance of regular activities carried out a number of important tasks of interest to the state and society. However, it is obvious that the relation of the community to the archives is inadequate and not in line with the values that grazed archives perform. Archival activities in previous work are mainly minimized and marginalized by the state, which is largely reflected on its traditional functions, namely the preservation of archives as irreplaceable memory and written cultural property of the state and nation. Status of archives and archival employees in the company is not validly determined and evaluated, according to their role and value of their activities. Such an attitude of the state and society, it is necessary to change and provide a better status and legal, human resources, spatial accommodation and physical environment for archives, and so that they can successfully answer many demands of modern society and be functional institutions which are necessary to state and society. For its expert, professional and enthusiastic approach, archival employees and archives deserve a better and more objective treatment of society and the state.
