Summary/Abstract: The phenomenon of Italian migration literature has only lately begun to expand, although it was born later than the European perspective. Italy, which was for a very long period of time a country of emigrants, beginning with the 80s became a long coveted for place, powerlessly witnessing a wave of emigrants coming from the so called mondisud. The Italian scholars took advantage of the new situation to get information about the most common habits concerning the newcomersř lives. In the course of time, the exploration extended its domain being interested in the cultural aspects of those persons, several of them becoming the protagonists of some Italian writings. In the meantime, the migrants themselves began to write helped by Italian journalists or writers, sharing others fragments of their own experience as migrants. Therefore, the migrant writersʼ literature is born Ŕ the literary production of some alien writers who live in Italy and write in their hostʼs language.
