Summary/Abstract: In the context of postwar German literature, the prose of the writer Günter Grass has an important place. Towards the reality of post-war period, which became problematic, G. Grass exhibits an attitude of disillusionment, skepticism and last but not least criticism towards the reality of German society. His criticism appears as a sharp satire to the petite bourgeoisie and continues with the exposal of the social, political and cultural German context. The new realistic literature of Günter Grass, the expression of his new subjectivity, is based on the basic structures of his narrative art such as the grotesque, the comical and the absurd, which are represented in the novel ŖÖrtlich betäubtŗ (ŖLocal anesthesiaŗ) by means of numerous detailed descriptions of characters, themes, motives and many fictional scenes. The detail becomes an important element while presenting the distorted reality. The present paper aims to undertake a careful analysis of some significant details in the reality-fiction report, two dimensions of the same history. The obsessive return to the major events from the past is a way of anesthetizing the pains and failures of an unsuccessful life
