Summary/Abstract: Zaraza, the courtesan who never falls in love. The ones who could have her for a night could enter the intimacy of her bed, but never had a chance at entering her heart. She strayed from her principles only once - in the summer of 1944 when she fell head over heels in love with Cristian Vasile, the only man who charmed her with his voice and songs: ŗRamonaŗ, ŗLight a cigaretteŗ, "Nuşa", "Nunuţo", "I love the woman", "No!", "I did some foolish things for you", "A single star faded for you in the sky", "When the moon appears in the skies", "Lie to me", "Take me away again", "What would you like me to write to you?", "Why did you tell me you loved me?", "Why are you looking at me?", "Ilona", "Your eyes have charmed me" etc. Next to Zavaidoc, Jean Moscopol, Gion and Ion Pribeagu, the singer Cristian Vasile was a great personality of his era, becoming the king of popular music. He was a symbol of masculinity among his generation of singers, due to his presence on stage and his unique voice. ŗGod gave him an absolutely wonderful voice and fascinating stage skills. He was the ideal artist for many ladies from the period between the two world wars. His presence was magnetic, anywhere he was. The moment he appeared, all was quiet and everyone was listening.
