Summary/Abstract: Few pages were written on the activity of bishop Calist Ialomiteanul, although his activity as hierarch had many brilliant moments of involvement and good pastoral service of the priests in his eparchy, as well as support granted to the faithful in distress and hard trials. Having been parish priest, Constantin-Calist understood the hardships that the clergy were faced with in the pastoral activity in their parishes. Rev. Constantin served for a few years in Delea Noua parish of Bucharest, together with his family, where he succeeded in renovating rather hard the church and the old peopleřs home that sheltered a few poor women that could find the peace and help needed here. He served at this parish with much devotion, having been a servant priest with much love for his faithful. After the death of his wife he was ordained hierarch, but he continued for a time to be the parish priest of the church of Bucharest too. The moment he became bishop of Arges he continued the beautiful activity of spiritual shepherd. His pastoral service in the Eparchy of Arges was marked by dramatic events during the Balkan Wars and the First World War. His great desire was to raise an orphanage, but he could not finish it, because he passed away much too soon, in 1917. I tried in the present study to identify a few aspects in the life of this bishop less known by those fond of the history of our Church.
