Summary/Abstract: This article examines the theory of religion and the way it functions in Slovoj Žižek postsecularworld. The Slovenian philosopher andpsychoanalyst rejects the concept of secularisationand the revival of sacrum. Žižek explores the third way which he submits into psychoanalysis inthe spirit of Lacan, Hegel and Marx with Christianity itself. Religion from his perspective is primevaland indefeasible, its fundament is the natural predilection of human beings to faith. Allseemingly secular ideas or endeavours of human beings have attributes typical of religion. Žižek inhis works puts himself in the position of a heretic who deconstructs mainstream religion includingcapitalism and cognitive Buddhism. The new religion which he proposes is Christianity interpretedin the spirit of Hegel and psychoanalysis.
