Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to show how the entrepreneurial orientation of companies which belong to a business cluster affects the sustainability and growth of the cluster. Out of all the different dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation, innovativeness and competitive aggressiveness seem to have the greatest influence on the functioning of a company within the cluster. The clusters which have the greatest chances of sustained growth are those which operate in industries dominated by “acquiescent innovators”, companies characterised by low competitive aggressiveness and a high level of innovation.
