Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author presents the controversies and certainties of the new Civil Code in relation to the unilateral act. The structure and the content of the study reveal the comments on the concept of unilateral act, on the legal regime applicable to unilateral acts, on the effects of unilateral acts, of legal regulation, on the concept and necessary delimitations, on the effects of unilateral promise, on the legal regulation of the public promise of reward, the concept and the necessary delimitations of the latter promise, on the effects of the promise of reward, the binding effect of the promise, as well as on the revocation of the public promise of reward. Finally, the author formulates brief considerations regarding the public promise of reward.
