Summary/Abstract: The article comprises a summary as well as a commentary to Stefan Wołoszyn’s study: Sophists’ Education. A Study to the History of Ancient Pedagogical Culture. Its purpose is to develop some of Wołoszyn’s themes and to see them in a subtly different light. Is shows the way in which the problem of “civic virtue” is embedded in the question of the political dimension of human condition. Is also presents Sophists as authors of inter-subjective, rhetoric-dialectical discourse.
