Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses and compares the results of 3 surveys of computer literacy. One of these surveys was run in Vilnius Pedagogical University during year 2008 (E. Valavičius, V. Jadzgevičienė). Participants were students of humanitarian specialities and students of mathematics-informatics. Topics of the survey: knowledge about hardware and software, information handling, text and hypertext, the Internet. Two other surveys were run in Vilnius Business College during 2007–2008 years. The purpose of the fi rst survey was to establish student’s knowledge that they bring from secondary school. It was run at the beginning of school year 2007/2008. The second survey was run at the end of spring semester in 2008 year. This survey fi xed student’s knowledge at the end of Information technologies course. Participants of both surveys were fi rst year students. Purposes of our paper: to fi x changes of students knowledge of computer literacy, to compare knowledge of students of universities and colleges, to suggest some improvements to information technologies discipline and to look at changes of knowledge after IT discipline in the college. All surveys use the same questionnaire.
