Importance of social participation in a revitalisation process

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to point to the need for an interdisciplinary approach to the process of revitalization. This approach is centered around the users of urban space, with particular emphasis on local communities. Actions taken in the framework of revitalization programs should be embedded in specific socio-economic realities, in order to be more fully able to influence the attitudes and behavior of the areas covered. In order to achieve the revitalization principles on a givev area, social participation becomes necessary, and thus active participation of persons covered by revitalization activities in process.
