Changes in the suburban areas of large cities in view of suburbanization processes

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to analyze the changes taking place in rural areas as a result of suburbanization process. The subject of this paper are rural municipalities of Cracow, directly adjacent to the city limits of Cracow. The article presents the recognition of the phenomenon on the basis of the following criteria: changes in population and its age structure, changes in the structure of land use, housing and technical infrastructure. The period of analyses covers the years 2004-2013.
