The “Szlakiem wież widokowych pogranicza polsko-czeskiego” project as an example of protection of historical monuments in Jelenia Góra

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this work is to try to assess stability of the effects of the ”Szlakiem wież widokowych pogranicza polsko-czeskiego” project on preservation of Wieża Krzywoustego. This paper also shows the attractiveness of the momument and possibilities to use its potential. In this work the course of the project was analysed and a comparison was made between the aims of the project and its actual effects. A short history of the tower was also included. This paper shows that the goals have been accomplished. However, two years later the tower was devastated due to lack of proper protection. After the project was completed, it turned out that the necessity of protection and utilisation of the building were not taken into account.
