Summary/Abstract: Material or physical protection of documentary and archival material should be considered the same protection in the current and ongoing collection, so that the material is not damaged or destroyed. The emphasis is on basic measures for the safeguarding of materials, (these are the appropriate building facilities for storing materials), with the appropriate technical equipment rooms for the protection of materials in their entirety from burglary, theft, misuse, dust, fire, water, inadequate temperature and air humidity, penetrating ultraviolet rays and the biological, chemical and physical influences, so that the material, while being in storage, while managed, during the inventory, while used, transported and exposed is not corrupted, destroyed or otherwise lost somehow, and as the last element is the appropriate technical equipment of each unit and also documentary archive materials.
