The Development of Transport on the Example of the Stanisławów Voivodeship in the Years 1921–1939

Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the development of transport infrastructure in the Stanisławów Voivodeship between 1921–1939. The number of vehicles and their classification by brand was established. The functioning of the rail transport, train and bus ticket fees, as well as discount scheme and the impact of these factors on the daily life of the local population were presented. As pointed out, the most extensive transport type was the rail – available to all parts of society. However, the disadvantage of this type of transport was connected with too long and numerous stops on the local line stations. The road transport developed quite slowly because of high prices and tax rates on cars, as well as the poor condition of local roads.
