Summary/Abstract: The files of the Frontul Renaşterii Naţionale [National Revival Front] (of Prut region) preserved at the National Archives in Iaşi contain countless information still waiting to be used in studies. The activity of this political party was regulated by numerous circulars sent by the Ministry of the National Revival Front, hence we are able to understand how the entire system functioned, even if we refer only to few local organizations. One may follow the main moments in the organization of the National Rebirth Front and its auxiliary groups, The National Guards. However, more important is how they tried to impose propaganda, to gain supporters, to create a „new type” of man, to justify the decisions made by Carol the Second, to strengthen the control of the authoritative state over all professional and social categories. The study of these files allows up to compare the ideologies of the political extreme right during that time in Europe or of the standard language used after that by the communist regime as well. Likewise, the popular manifestations are strikingly similar to those organized by the communists. Even more, one can compare the ways the authoritative regimes in Romania of the 20th century. These documents also testify the political culture of the people, the mentalities during the period between the two wars, their mechanisms of constraint, the efforts and the results obtained.Furthermore, the studies can be developed in a punctual manner if they are based on the National Revival Front’ documents of Prut area but also synthetically if one corroborate these studies with other historical researches.
