Summary/Abstract: The seals collection from Iaşi county branch of the National Archives has a series of 14 seals once belonging to the famous Hurmuzachi family from Bukovina. These are office seals made in bronze. Nine of those contain monograms that allowed the identification of the original owners. Settling these within the genealogical tree of the Hurmuzachi family we may ascertain that Doxuţă Hurmuzachi (dead in 1913) inherited the seals. Sever Zotta, former director of Iaşi county branch, related to Hurmuzachi family on his mother side, add the seal of his brother, Octavian Zotta, and probably that of his mother, born Flondor, to this collection. Other five seals are heraldic, containing the Hurmuzachi’s coat of arms in a version different from the one known at present. Other two seals contain the coats of arms of Sturdza and Cazimir families.
