Summary/Abstract: The author analyses publisher’s notes, regarded here as primarily written texts (substantial aspect), localized on the fourth page of the book cover, on the back cover and/or on the flaps of the dust jacket (spatial aspect), which perform the presentational and recommendational functions. The material is subject to genelogical analysis according to the following order: canonical, alternate and adaptive patterns. The canonical pattern is the presentation of the main text and its positive valorization. The strategies used in an alternate pattern were revealed as a result of the research. These include: authorial presentations, presentation and valorization through a biogram or reviews, direct addresses to recipient in order to personalize her/him or to unify the community, and provocations inclusing taboo violation. The adaptive pattern consists of antipresentations, antirecommendations and the interiorization of other species.
