Summary/Abstract: By invoking poorly researched musical manuscripts and archival sources, the article seeks to analyze how many and which works of Western European composers-classics in their own time were present in the repertory of Lithuanian church chapels. This is a continuous study of the authoress, devoted to the research of the repertory of Lithuanian church chapels of the late 19th century. The object of the study is manuscripts of the works of Western European composers, kept in archives of Vilnius. Using historiographical, typological and comparative methods, attempts are made to reveal the peculiarities of the discussed part of the repertory of church chapels in the common context of works performed by chapels. The goal of the study was to assess the never analyzed part of the repertory of Lithuanian church chapels by revising archival documents and to substantiate the settled attitude towards it. The article raises hypothetical assumptions on the popularity of creations of some composers in the repertory, the ways by which the manuscripts and printed notes got to chapels, the issue of the importance of the authorship, etc. The aims of the work were to assess the presence of works of Western European composers in the repertory of the choirs that performed in Lithuanian churches, their number in the lists of notes and archives of manuscripts, to compile a precise calendar of musical manuscripts of Western European composers, to determine the authorship of doubtful and anonymous works and to name accurately the compositions. At end of the publication, the calendar of musical manuscripts, compiled with reference to the RISM method of describing musical manuscripts, is presented. This calendar of the manuscripts was assessed also as the object and source of the works.
