Summary/Abstract: The study analyses the relationship between dog and man. As an introduction, it presents the opinions held in different ages about the minds of animals/dogs. The author establishes that dogs have many qualities of mind similar to humans. This “artificial animal” is in some ways similar to men. Researches have established many analogies in this respect: social attraction towards humans; referential communication; complementary cooperation with change of dominance; imitation; the acceptance of instruction; theory of mind; compliance; abstraction. The behavioral homologies between humans and dogs illustrate the conditions of the establishment of community without language.
