Summary/Abstract: Occurred during the transition qualitative changes in the state of thefts and in the personality of their perpetrators is largely associated with changes in legal awareness of citizens. The report examined the impact of distorted legal awareness as criminogenic factor for committing thefts by its three structural elements: knowledge of the law; assessment of the law and practice of its implementation; preparedness for lawful/unlawful behavior. The study of legal awareness and legal socialization is a prerequisite for determining the directions and content of measures to prevent thefts and recidivism in.
