Summary/Abstract: Vision and context: The term of adaptation in pedagogy issued in the context with the questions of adaptation of an individual to the conditions of a school environment university activity, study and life. The term of students adaptation within the conditions of Slovak technical universities is not very frequent. The process of a student entering the university presents a simple period of mans life.Goal: the point of a presented study was to (1) mention the topicality of the problem of adaptation process of students at the beginning of their university study, presented in more home or foreign theoretical and research works, (2) to find out the opinions of the students, how well they are informed of fundamental questions and problems of a technical field within their university study(information concerning the organization of university study, the scientific work, the methodology and forms of education etc.) the conclusions of the results should be used to optimalize the content of the pilot subject oriented to manage the first grade students´academic adaptation. Findings: the results of the survey revealed the need for early intervention within adaptation problems for university study. In conclusion, individual attention is paid to the possible solutions on continuous bridging over this difficult period within the life of students with the use of so-called humanistic approaches in order to exclude or decrease unfavorable influences on students.
