Summary/Abstract: The Eulogy is an original Bulgarian work of an as of yet unidentified man of letters connected to the sixteenth-century Sofia Literary School. It is preserved in only one copy from the collection of Slavonic manuscripts of the Institute of Church History and Archives in Sofia. The work is dedicated to the martyrdom of three martyrs against Islam: George the New Martyr of Sofia, George the Newest Martyr of Sofia and Nicolas of Sofia. The article aims at analysing the whole inventory of composite words, their structural features and semantic profile, used to express the basic concepts of the Biblical paradigm, as well as holiness and martyrdom.
