Summary/Abstract: The paper investigates how verbal images are anchored in acting behaviour. It focuses on the concretisation of actors’ imagination and the resulting possibilities of relating their declamation and gestures to the stage disposition and the theatre’s location in the city. Two models are used – Noh and the Elizabethan theatre.
