Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the problem of the management of the forest real estate in Poland. The main focus has been put on the properties owned by The State Treasury and administered by The State Forests National Forest Holding. The purpose of the article was to define the economic challenges of effective forest property management which does not involve completion of statutory duties. In addition, the basic institutional and legal barriers to the effective management of property entrusted with authorized entities have been identified.
