Evolution of scientific ideas of economy of knowledge

Summary/Abstract: Formation of the economy based not only on information, but also on knowledge, in the conditions of Ukraine requires additionalresearches, in particular concerning a complex of necessary actions in this direction, possible temporary reference points of itsformation, scientific and information support, certain changes in activities of economic actors. Carrying out scientific researchesrequires adequate use of categories and concepts which can be expressed through words and signs, that is scientific terms.Research purpose is clarification of features and prerequisites of emergence of economy of knowledge, essence of the category«economy of knowledge», to seize the teoretiko-methodological bases of the economy of knowledge for profound understanding ofthis phenomenon and further practical application of the received system of knowledge.For goal achievement the following tasks were set:- to consider features and prerequisites of emergence of economy of knowledge;- to specify essence of category economy of the knowledge opening its role;- to seize the teoretiko-methodological bases of the economy of knowledge for profound understanding of this phenomenon andfurther practical application of the received system of knowledge.Research of essence of economy of knowledge from the point of view of genesis provides determination of the main stages of itsformation - a periodization. In system of social and economic development of the country, economy of knowledge as the socialresource of work is one of the most important criteria of an assessment of rationality, including efficiency of the organization ofsocioeconomic system of the country. In our opinion, reality on the first place among the dominating factors of economic growthremove not knowledge, but information.Generalizing determinations concerning interpretation of the concept «economy of knowledge» It should be noted that theeconomy of knowledge is a post-industrial economy in which a driving force of further development is accumulating, use ofinformation and knowledge concentrated in a human capital. Important indicators of its development is not only a human capital, andand human development and a social capital of the nation.Evolution and dynamics of development of economy of knowledge in Ukraine are caused by universal tendencies of its forming. Howeverin comparison with the advanced foreign countries of Ukraine meanwhile is on initial stage of development of economy of knowledge.It is possible to draw a conclusion that economy, based on manual labor and agricultural industry, the era of the industrial economybased on use of natural resources which is changed in turn by information economy or economy of knowledge replaced.As information and knowledge as qualitatively new production resource become the main factor of economic growth, developmentof economy of knowledge shall become the national purpose for Ukraine. For this purpose it is necessary to create the environmentfor development of economy of knowledge, to change the direction of economic researches from the analysis of material factors topass to the analysis of forming and use of information and knowledge, and also practical application of «economy of knowledge».
