Summary/Abstract: Transformation of economic systems is an integral component of the modern global world, because the development of economicsystem is nonlinear, unstable, multivariate and contradictory process. So the author researches and systematizes various conceptsand theories on the rationale the nature, causes and ways of transforming economic systems, the main ones are: civilization,formational, evolutionary convergence, modernization, institutional, technocratic-futurological and synergistic approaches. It isestablished that researching the processes of transforming economic systems stood out as a separate direction (economictransitology) in modern conditions. The development stages of the transitology and the main aspects of the research are shown.Also, the author suggests a generalized scheme of realization of transforming economic systems, which includes characteristicsand types of transformations. The aggravation of social, political and economic transformation takes place in modern conditions inUkraine that is complicated by the need to defend the sovereignty, to carry out fundamental economic and social reforms in terms ofthe global challenges. Therefore, the article presents the main problems that causes the current transformational crisis in Ukraine andthe aims of further transformation of the national economy.
