Summary/Abstract: The paper presents innovative solutions developed and implemented at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Szczecin within the framework of gerontological education. The paper focuses on the following areas: 1. Promoting humanist approach to human ageing and old age – development of the idea Humanities in relation to old age in a spirit of integration of generations, 2. Gerontological education as a part of a series of scientific conferences A world (un)friendly for old people. 3. Cooperation with UTA in Zachodniopomorskie region and improving regional empowerment through education. 4. Education for older adults in Szczecin. The aim of the paper is to promote good practices in terms of cooperation of the Faculty of Humanities with the local community, demonstrating the role of a university in transformation of social reality with the aim of creating conditions to have a decent old age.
