Young, emerging cultures and outputs from the deadlocks

Summary/Abstract: During the last fifteen years, the socialization of deviant youth was mainly analyzed through the description of contexts that sustain their deviancy. Research on integration through art and culture and – more specifically – through the practice of popular music (rock, rap) are now perceived as referents in thinking city politics. Three characteristics of these behaviors are being reviewed here: their modelling by mass-culture, their structuring tendencies and the self insertion attitude they involve.
