Statistical Data Concerning the Principality of Moldova during 1808-1812

Summary/Abstract: In this article a series of statistical data concerning the Principality of Moldova in 1808-1812 are displayed. These data were accumulated as a result of the order from May, 9, 1812, issued by Senator V.I. Krasno-Milaşevici, the chair of the Divan (Boyar Council) of Moldova and the Romanian Country, addressed to the main treasurer Iordache Ruset-Roznovanu. The statistical data show the number of inhabitants in every ocol (district), the sums of money paid for taxes, according to the social level, the incomes and expenses of the Principality of Moldova, the taxes that were paid by the counties from the left side of Prut, the sums of money gathered from the taxes that were paid by the inhabitants of Moldova from the left side of Prut, as well as those proceeded from concessions.
