Summary/Abstract: Between 1945 and 1946 in Bulgaria the conditions had been created to set up the new Communist regime. In those years, at the end of the war, the National Front was in power, a so called pluralist alliance. Other parties wanted to oppose to the incoming regime, but the situation (with the Soviet Army in the Country) did not permit to succeed. In a short lapse of time all opposition was whipped out, also by use of violence. This picture emerges clearly (among other sources) from the Italian diplomatic documentation, which enlargens the knowledge of that Bulgarian political experience also by a comparative analysis of the national and international historiography.
