KONCEPTE DHE TERMA TË RINJ TË SINTAKSËS SHQIPE
NEW CONCEPTS AND TERMS OF ALBANIAN SYNTAX

Summary/Abstract: This article treats not just several details of the life of the Albanian syntactician Spiro Floqi, but also deals with issues of syntactic terminology in Albanian. The discussion here springs from several terms used in ‘'Sintaksë e gjuhës shqipe, Përbërësit sintaksorë” (Tiranë, 2012). The author puts forth the fact that the list of the new terms that correspond to new concepts consists of 80 terms. Such terms are “ijali” for simple and complex senetence, “fjali e thjeshtë”, “fjali e përbërë”, “përbërës sintaksorë” for phrase or syntagm, simple constituent for one-word phrases, '4përbërës i zbërthyeshëm” for complex phrase, “caktuesor” for specifler, “plotësor” for complement, “shtesor” for adjunct, etc. The new terms, according to the author, shouid be derived based on the tradition of Albanian linguistics, the tradition of anglo- arnerican linguistics, and on persuasive arguments for each and every case
