Summary/Abstract: Drawing on contemporary theories concerning migration, displacement and cultural transfer, this paper explores the specific ways in which fiction and literary discourse contextualise the complex representations of the homeland in the works of Herta Müller and Cătălin Dorian Florescu. It aims to integrate this issue into an analytical process that correlates memory, trauma and nostalgia, understood as fundamental identity components.
