Summary/Abstract: The subject of the work is to study financing of secondary education in Ukraine, to analyze its condition and the ways of additional financing. The purpose of article is to analyze the condition of financing of secondary education in accordance with the current legislation of education; to formulate the proposals for perfection of the mechanisms of additional financing of education. Research objectives. to investigate the condition of financing of secondary education sector and to indicate the possible variants of additional financing. The methodology of work conducting. The study was based on research results of contemporary domestic scholars views on the concept of education and its financing and there were examined the alternative ways of financing of secondary education. The result. It was determined the main point of concept of educational funding, was given the dynamic of expenditures for education in general and for secondary education and there were shown in details the ways of additional financing of secondary education. Field of application The results of this study can be applied in studying the problems of education, including funding the field of general secondary education. Conclusions. Thus, our study of the current state funding of education in Ukraine shows that for the problems solving of this field it is necessary to develop a high-quality system of state measures that will be used to ensure its effective development. And at the same time the main objective should be to support the sufficient funding for the field by optimization of budget and off-budget sources of its development.
