Summary/Abstract: The uranium potential in mio-pliocene formations from the curved area of the Carpathians. The world's known uranium deposits related to the major oil regions, such as those in south Texas or Russia. In our country there are no known deposits of this type, but the geological-tectonic zone of the Buzau valley, in which appearing occur myo-Pliocene formations may be favorable from uranium accumulations of this type. In this regard, in the ‘80s, were initiated research projects on relatively small areas, which due to unsatisfactory results in terms of possible operations, were stopped. However the prospecting should be extended to areas as large and with a larger volume of deep boreholes because this type of uranium deposits are deep.
