Summary/Abstract: The possibility of organ transplantation raises discussions not only in the fields of medical sciences but also in the related domains of pharmaceutics, immunology, biology, law, ethics, and even philosophy. In spite of major achievements not all risk factors could have been excluded. Therefore both science and ethics is confronted with questions that can only be answered in the future.
