Summary/Abstract: The article shows the intelligentsia's contribution to formation and development of Ancient Roman jurisdiction. Much attention is paid to the extra-legal criteria conditioning the specificity of jurisdiction during the mentioned historical period. The empirical material of the article is represented by quotes from the historical, philosophical and legal monuments confirming theoretical arguments of the author.
