Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to show the figure of Professor Mieczysław Łobocki who has a special place in the history of Lublin pedagogy. The Professor’s academic interests were concentrated mainly around the issues belonging to theory and methodology of education. In his numerous publications in this area he combined social psychology with the humanistic orientation and Christian personalism, trying to permeate education with the highest moral values. He believed in the same values in his life, since he was an exceptionally sensitive, empathic, honest, helpful and modest man.
