Summary/Abstract: The article dwells upon the study of the resemiotization phenomenon as a remarkable form of contemporary symbolic politics of Russia. The first part of the article presents a comparative analysis of symbolization, resymbolization, desymbolization, and resemiotization, reveals the cognitive foundations of resemiotization, offers its definition. In the next section the author demonstrates the specificity of resemiotization in the framework of the symbolic politics. The third part focuses on the cases of resemiotization of the «Motherland» in the symbolic politics of post-Soviet Russia.
