Summary/Abstract: The article examines the development of the urban concept of "Garden-cities" created by E. Howard, and the reflection of this concept in the Russian architectural projects. The author attempts to reflect the conversion of the "garden-city" concept from the specific characteristics of urban development projects to the metaphor or the title. On the example of the transformation of Omsk in the "garden-city" the author reveals the relationship of the propaganda of "green building" with the landscape gardening management.
