Summary/Abstract: The article investigates Dimitry Halkokondil's – a Greek scholaremigrant of the 15th century – influence on humanistic culture of the Renaissance Florence during its blossoming. Analyzed are the contacts of the scholar with representatives of church, political and cultural elite of Italy of that time as well as his pedagogical activity. Noted is Halkokondil's contribution to distribution and deepening the Florentines interest in antique tradition, in the Greek-Byzantine culture which contributed to the expansion of the Italian Renaissance thought horizon.
